Slow Breath
Slow breathing involves reducing the breath rate to 5 to 7 breaths per minute, compared to the average adult rate of 16 breaths per minute. This practice activates the vagus nerve, which is crucial for entering a recuperative state. It also increases alpha waves in the brain, promoting a relaxed yet alert state of mind.
Slow breaths are unhurried, soft, lightweight, inaudible, and perfectly measured, providing significant benefits to both mental and physical well-being by reducing anxiety and enhancing relaxation.
